SGT is pleased to received applications for grants to improve school grounds. Applications are welcome from any Surrey maintained Infant and Primary School, Academies and Free Schools who are planning to create, or further develop, a garden that will facilitate children’s learning. Never before has there been a time when learning about plants has been so important, both for educational purposes and for children’s well-being. The Trust has allocated £5,000 towards Schools Awards and Squires Garden Centre has generously offered gift vouchers to help with school projects. Closing date for applications is 1 April 2022.
Last year there were over 50 applications from Primary, Junior, Infant and Nursery schools. We were able to award £4,500 thanks to another generous donation. Grants were awarded to 19 schools and ranged in value from £400 to £150.
