A look back at 2020 and looking forward to 2021
This week has brought us all a glimmer of hope that we will return to some semblance of ‘business as usual’ in the Spring next year. Perhaps we can all begin to look forward to getting together again for garden visits, study days and lectures. We have lots on hold and are brimming with enthusiasm for our 30th Anniversary celebrations.
You should have received your AGM papers in the post over the last few days. We have followed government guidelines and will hold the AGM as a closed meeting this year. You will, as a consequence, find a Proxy Form with the papers and I strongly urge you to engage in your democratic right to vote! Please do complete and submit the form.
While the formal proceedings of the AGM will be off camera, you will also receive an invitation to join Council members for a 2020 Review as a Zoom meeting at 12 noon on Saturday, 12 December. We are not able to hold our annual Christmas Lunch and Lecture, which is such a highlight of our year, but we would very much like to ‘meet’ with you all to report on the AGM process and to talk about what we have achieved in 2020 and our plans for 2021.
We will provide clear instructions before the event for those who are new to Zoom. I know that to many of you it has become a way of life but for others this will be a first. Please do not be put off, we are available to help you join in. Zoom joining instructions were sent in a Mailchimp to all members last week. If you have any queries or have not received it please contact Sheri at eventssgt@gmail.com.
With a cup of coffee, or perhaps something a little more festive in hand, the Council very much looks forward to sharing this time with you.
